The company is to offer productive commercial management towards dry bulk shipowners, and reliable freight solution which services the end user by connecting origination with destination of major dry commodities.

SMU operate mainly in panamax and post-panamax segments (70,000 – 99,999 DWT), and the company’s vessels transport major bulks which include coal, iron ore and bauxite. The fleet under commercial management of SMU is among the most modern and competitive in the industry, so we are able to stay closely to green technology developments and to place ourselves ahead of shipping peers.

SMU’s commercial team is led by Mr. Mengjie Shen who has over ten years of shipping and commercial experience. Prior to co-founding SMU Shen works at freight desk in Star Bulk, Nasdaq’s biggest dry bulk shipping company. The team is dedicated to provide sustainable and competitive freight service to customers in this volatile and changing shipping market.
